#LSPT-310 – ‘62-’67 CHEVY II LS-1 TO LS-7 – LS Pro Tour header for Chris Alston’s Chassisworks front clip, Also for AJE, Martz, Heidts & Checkered Racing front clips
$1,950.00 – $4,200.00
Header Spec’s:
This header is available in 1 ¾” tube size with 3” collectors also 1 7/8” or 2” tube size with 3 ½” collectors. All of our headers are hand made so we can build any combination you need including step headers, our slip on type race collectors or pro-tour welded on collectors as well as any engine deck height or aftermarket cylinder heads.
What Fits:
All of the tubes are inside the frame with excellent ground clearance and spark plug access. On our design car we used a stock oil pan and an aftermarket Moroso oil pan #20140 with side sump kick outs. We also used a stock starter and an aftermarket Power Master starter. The oil filter has easy access.
The header was designed for side motor mounts or motor plates and Alston’s sway bar kit. The engine needs to stay in the stock location with the steering column installed per the chassis builder’s specifications.
If you request a “V” band connection for your exhaust reducers, we install the oxygen bungs in the reducer which can be rotated to any position.
This header WILL fit a power brake booster, but will NOT fit a factory air conditioning box on the fire wall, factory column shifter linkage or mechanical clutch linkage.
Special note for LS-7 engines: the LS-7 stock oil pan has dry sump oil lines on the passenger side. These oil lines will interfere with our header and need to be redirected.
On the passenger side the header tube is about 1 ¼” away from a stock oil pan.
Installing the headers:
Installing a one piece header is always more difficult.
Drivers side, if you have a factory style oil pan with no sump kick outs, the driver side can be installed by removing the oil filter, spark plugs and the lower section of the steering column ( between the 2 “U” joints ), then the header will install from the bottom. If you have a kick out oil pan you may have to raise the engine about 1”.
Passenger side, this side is more confined, you will have to raise the engine about 4” with the starter out and the header will install from the bottom. Be sure you reinstall the starter before bolting the header in place. It may be easier to install the headers as the engine is being installed.
